Carrier risk inside the screens your customers already use
HaulProof gives every carrier in its file, about 2.2 million US and Canadian records, one explained risk tier: Low, Average, Medium or High, with the reasons in plain words. Platforms show it where a carrier is picked, paid or insured, so their customers check before they book.
What your customers see
- A tier beside each carrier, refreshed every night, with the reasons: inactive or revoked authority, a pending insurance cancellation, an out-of-service order, a poor safety rating, stale safety data.
- Canadian provincial records next to the FMCSA record: Quebec CTQ ratings (synced daily), Ontario CVOR and MTO safety ratings, and NSC records from the provinces that publish them or that carriers share.
- Identity links: a carrier sharing a phone, email, address or officer with a carrier in bad standing, the usual sign of a chameleon or an impersonator.
- Alerts the day a carrier's authority, insurance, safety rating or tier changes.
- English and French, from the same call.
Three ways to plug in
- A nightly tier file. Every active US carrier and every Canadian provincial profile, about 2.2 million rows, as one gzipped CSV. Load it once a night and show a tier next to every carrier with no call at booking time.
- One API call. GET /v1/tiers with up to 100 carriers per call, by USDOT, MC, NSC, CVOR or NIR; or GET /v1/carriers/{id} for the full merged record.
- Signed alerts. Put your customers' carriers on a watchlist and HaulProof posts each change to your webhook, signed with HMAC-SHA256.
Email sales@haulproof.ca for a sandbox key: you get it the same day, with 10 fictional carriers. The engineer's guide, the OpenAPI spec and sample code are public: Engineer's guide · OpenAPI 3.1 spec · API
What it looks like in practice
- Before a tender. A dispatcher in Mississauga picks a Quebec carrier for a Montréal load. The carrier card flags it: the CTQ rates the carrier Conditional, with no right to operate. The tender stops before a truck is sent.
- Overnight. A carrier's liability insurer files a cancellation with FMCSA. That night's alert flags it, and the carrier card shows the pending cancellation, with its date, before the next booking.
- At set-up. A new carrier signs up with a phone number shared with a carrier whose authority was revoked last year. The identity link flags it as a possible chameleon and says why, in one line.
- Before a payment. A factoring company checks the carrier on an invoice before releasing funds. The tier and the identity links show whether the carrier being paid is the one on file.
Proof you can check
- haulproof.ca/accuracy: How well the tier predicts trouble: on 379,944 US carriers, those rated High lost their operating authority within 12 months 67.3% of the time, against 9.1% for those rated Low.
- haulproof.ca/status: Live service status and the time of the last data refresh.
- haulproof.ca/security: How data is hosted (database in Canada), keys hashed, webhooks signed and backups tested.
- haulproof.ca/carriers/sample: A full carrier profile, as members see it.
How a pilot works
- No cost and no contract: a sandbox key the same day (email sales@haulproof.ca), then a live key on the carriers of two or three of your customers for 30 days.
- We agree the measure first, for example how many carriers later reported for fraud or losing their authority were flagged before booking.
- Keep going if it works, with no exclusivity. Your customers keep their own data.
